Artist: Jean-francois Leleu (1729 - 1807) Nationality: French Movement: Media: ebeniste Influences: Biography: Jean-Francois Leleu apprenticed to Jean-Francois Oeben. Upon his master’s death, Oeben’s workshop was passed on to Leleu’s rival Jean-Henri Riesener, an event that caused much jealousy and fighting between the two colleagues. He left the workshop and became a master in 1764. His clients included Louis XV, Madame du Barry, and the Prince de Conde.
